Heart Disease

Heart disease is caused when the blood supply to your heart is blocked due to a build-up of fatty substances. While heart disease cannot be cured, lifestyle changes and medication can help you to live a perfectly normal life.

The main symptoms of coronary heart disease are:

. Shortness of breath
. Chest pain
. Pain throughout the body
. Feeling sick
. Feeling faint.

More information about heart disease, treatment and recovering from the effects of a heart attack can be found on the NHS website.
